Why did you get into recruitment?

I knew what lifestyle I wanted but was unsure which job would fulfil this lifestyle until I came across recruitment. When you are able to generate an income at your own expense, your interest certainly gets aroused. So first and foremost, the rewards and their potential to transform the standard of life so quickly and dramatically encouraged the change.

What do you enjoy most about the role and working in Infrastructure and DevOps?

I started as a Delivery Executive and transferred over to the DevOps space. It absolutely has to be the autonomy to run your own desk without micro-management but with an epic support system that’s there when you need it. If you’ve experienced this you know how important it is and if you haven’t you know how frustrating it can be without it.

What is your favourite quote that you live by and why?

“When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on”

When it feels like everything’s going wrong, don’t give up. Giving up never made anything right. It’s only when you hang on and keep on fighting for what you want that you’ll get there.

What tips would you give for someone considering a career in agency recruitment?

Have an honest conversation with yourself about your Moxy. You’ll need lots of this.

What has been your most memorable moment with Archer Recruitment so far?

I have a few memorable moments but the one that stands out the most was my first placement. You feel on top of the world and most recruiters in the industry know-how tough it can be to get that first one on the board. Yes, it can be stressful just like any other job but it’s a job where you can determine the outcome.
